We all have been very creative with our highlighter, and it is no wonder that we have even experimented by smearing it all over the eyes, cheekbones, noses, lips, shoulders. We have tried it on our legs when we have come across any occasion. But did you ever come across the thought of putting it on your hands? Even we had not till now, but now we are considering doing it all because of Instagram nail-art expert Eun Kyung Park. Eun Kyung Park comes from a nail salon, Unistella, in South Korea. On 18th September, Eun Park posted a slideshow of a nude manicure embellished with dangling gold jewelry, which is larger-than-life. But hey, that’s probably not the part that caught our attention. Despite all the expensive clothing and jewelry, we found our eyes glued over her cuticles, which were sparkling with iridescent pink glitter.
In her Instagram post, Eun Park gives the nail detail a name that we found almost charming “cuticle shadow.” We can imagine how little time it will take this cuticle nail-art trend to catch on and spread like wildfire across the internet’s nail-art and make-up communities. The tint glint of light seen in this photo is all thanks to an upcoming Fenty beauty drop, named Diamond Bomb in Holo At Me, a bulky and thick glitter highlighter that shifts from pink to purple in different light settings. There should be no wonder that the sparkle is so blinding.
Eun Park, in her interview with Allure, tells that she has been thinking of ways to blend the worlds of make-up and nail art recently. So whosoever is wondering where did this cuticle nail art shadow come from, that’s how the idea of cuticle nail art shadow was born. Eun Park says that she is really interested in doing make-up on her nails and hands these days. Drawing dots and putting in highlighters were all inspired by make-up. Unsurprisingly, her idea of ‘cuticle nail art shadow’ invention is also inspired by the make-up on Euphoria and the show’s main character, Zendaya’s Rue. Rue is not among the most frequent make-up wearers on the show, but her occasional glitter-smeared eyes clearly sparked something in Eun Park. Eun Park notes that the character of the show is the primary inspiration for cuticle shadow.
It is hard to believe that a nail look, which is so pretty and comfortable to achieve took this long to hit the trend, but now that it is out in this world, we doubt it will be soon hit the trends all across the internet’s nail art and make-up communities. To achieve this look, it takes a clean manicure, one dazzling highlighter, and the swipe of a finger.
